Ryan Hurley

Ryan Hurley, associate professor of mechanical engineering, was recognized by Johns Hopkins University with a 2025 Career Impact Award. The award recognizes individuals across the Hopkins community who go out of their way to support the professional growth of others, often behind the scenes. Their generosity, mentorship, and advocacy help shape careers and strengthen the university community.

Hurley, who is a co-deputy director of the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI) and a researcher at the Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI), is one of 13 award winners out of more than 240 nominations, and one of four Whiting School of Engineering affiliates.
