Abhishek Cauligi is an incoming assistant professor of mechanical engineering starting in the summer of 2025. Abhishek’s research interests are in spacecraft and robotic autonomy and his work leverages nonlinear optimization, machine learning, and control theory to advance autonomous space exploration. Abhishek was previously a Robotics Technologist at NASA Jet Propulsion Lab and received his PhD in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford University, where his work focused on using machine learning to accelerate trajectory optimization and running experiments on the International Space Station.
