“Unexpected pathways to success – a brief history of medicine at Johns Hopkins as a case study”
Presented by Professor Kevin Hemker
Alonzo G. Decker Chair and Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Johns Hopkins University
This seminar will narrate a brief history of medicine through a series of short biographies, highlighting the prominent role that Hopkins physicians have played in the development of medicine and the unusual twists and turns that their careers have followed. The goal of this seminar will be to introduce current and visiting students to the rich history that we share at Johns Hopkins, to emphasize the role of inclusivity, and to encourage them to be bold as they embark on their own careers.
