During the weekend of April 18th-19th, the Johns Hopkins Baja team competed in the first of two competitions this season in Auburn, Alabama. The team, consisting of primarily underclassmen improved immensely over last years finish and earned their highest placing yet. With a race strategy of less drama and more laps, the team raced to the end of the four-hour endurance race in 8th place. Combined with a strong showing in their other events and a 3rd place finish in cost they earned a total 8th place finish out of 97 teams from all over the globe.

The Baja team will now go on to compete in Mechanicsville, Maryland from May 7th to 10th. The team is never satisfied and with the increased driver experience and planned vehicle improvements they have their sights set even higher for Maryland!
