The Whiting School of Engineering and its departments and centers celebrated outstanding students, faculty, and staff at its 24th annual Convocation Awards ceremony on Monday, May 2nd. During the ceremony, the following mechanical engineering students were acknowledged:

Michael Howland ’16 and Dmitriy Kats ‘16 – Winners of the James Bell award for outstanding research and scholarly achievement in Mechanical Engineering.

David Gorman ’16, Devin Holladay ’16, Erez Krimsky ’17, Emily Mancuso ’17 and Patrick Reilly ’16 – Winners of the Robert George Gerstmyer awards, recognizing outstanding undergraduate achievement in Mechanical Engineering.

Glenn Balbus ‘16 – Winner of the Charles A. Miller award, which recognizes outstanding academic achievement by an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering.

David Gorman ’16, Michael Howland ’16, Alexander Schlink ’17 and Graduate Students Zara Molaeinia and William Wagers – Winners of the Creel Family Teaching Assistant award, recognizing the best teaching assistants in Mechanical Engineering.

Sydrake Abdi ’16 and Valeria Vasconcellos ‘16 – Winners of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers award for outstanding effort and accomplishment on behalf of the JHU ASME student chapter.

Glenn Balbus ’16, Kiana Duncan ’16 and Colin Egan ‘16 – Winners of the William N. Sharpe Award for Student Involvement, which recognizes significant leadership or achievement in extracurricular activities.

Anna Goodridge ‘17 – Winner of the Mechanical Engineering Special Achievement Award which recognizes outstanding leadership and achievement with the BAJA SAE team.
