Charles Meneveau received honorary doctorate

Charles Meneveau, Louis M. Sardella Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the Danish Technical University (DTU) for “Outstanding and highly innovative scientific achievements in fluid dynamics, particularly for his work on turbulence and atmospheric physics and its applications to wind energy.”

The honorary doctorate (doctor technices, honouris causa) is the DTU’s highest academic honor. The award ceremony took place at DTU’s annual Commemoration Day 2016 celebration, with the Danish Crown Prince Frederik in attendance.

Since 2012, Meneveau has had a close collaboration with DTU Wind Energy.
